Tetelestai
I’m a spring gal. I live for the first forsythia bloom, the awaking earth, the sound of songbirds...and Easter Week. Who knows , for sure, what bubbles things up as favorites? But since I was young I associated the season with my Dad...a sage, beloved and giving beyond words. I’m tethered to him in my memories by what made him smile, ponder and believe. He wasn’t one to force feed his thoughts. But his walk had purpose...and in his steps I picked up morsels of a life full of riches. He gardened, he explored, he searched out the needy and he had deep Faith. Everything about him was Spring: Love, Hope and Renewal... During Easter Week...in Dad’s subtle way...he would remind me of the amazing gift I had been given all those many Springs ago by a Man who went to the cross on my behalf. A Man who had Finished the ultimate mission for me. Tetelestai... ...and it is Good Friday...and I’m thinking...and remembering.... And I have something to share with you - if you are interested. In front of CornerSmiths on Friday and Saturday there will be a display rack with individually wrapped wrist bands. A gift to you from CornerSmiths. One request: please only handle the one you choose to take. And a nudge: our local pantry and the Mid-Ohio food bank are always grateful for donations. And I have a hope: that we can all see each other in Spring...
